The critical component of any closed-loop drilling (CLD) system—and the first line of defense for your wellbore—is the rotating control device (RCD). RCDs create a closed-loop environment to contain and divert fluids and to enable wellbore pressure management. 

Weatherford has achieved many industry milestones for RCDs, from debuting the first RCD in the world in 1968 to completing API testing with nitrogen to validate RCD use in pure gas conditions in 2016. Today, we offer a field-proven portfolio with solutions for all environments.


 

AUTOMATED MPD RISER SYSTEM

The heart of our intelligent MPD system is the automated MPD riser for offshore and deepwater applications. Its integrated, compact, and smart design reduces installation to less than 20 minutes, which results in more than 80% faster rig up and down time. Our expedient process in no way compromises the time saved during MPD operations.
