Tool Interface Box – Standard and HD

Calibrates and checks tools on surface only

Applications

  • Perform tool calibrations in lab or field locations
  • Surface tool checks before/after deploying tools in the well
  • Test tools in lab without complete system, TCU, and wireline (simulator)

Features and Benefits

  • Automatic tool polling identification and data loop generation
  • Fast inter-tool bus communications
  • Up-link data rate of 150 kb/seconds
  • Fast wireline down-link (16 Kbps) allows real-time control of toolstring
  • Send tool commands (e.g., opening/closing multi-arm caliper tool)

Tool Description

The Weatherford tool interface box is used to test HD tools using a workstation with Warrior on a workbench or at the surface before deploying tools in a well for memory operations. The TIB facilitates an easy method to qualify HD tools performance on surface without requiring a TCU, surface interface panel (HLP/HIP), wireline or a dummy line box (DLB).
