CygNet Webinar – Automatic Service Recovery and Broadcast

July 21, 2017 / 0 comments / in General  / by Luke Williams

How do you configure a service to automatically failover with Redundancy?  How do you alert all of your clients to a planned failover, or let them know about upcoming maintenance?

Before version 8.5.1 you’d be hard pressed to come up with a simple answer.

In version 8.5.1 we have a simple answer to both.

Automatic Service Recovery, and CygNet Broadcast!

How do you configure one, and use the other?  Make sure to join us for our July webinar to find out.

Automatic Service Recovery (ASR) is a feature that has been a part of the RSM for many versions, and with the release of 8.5.1 the ASR feature has been updated to support automatic failover with Redundancy.

CygNet Broadcast is another new feature in 8.5.1 and while it does not require or depend on Redundancy it has many use cases, including working with Redundancy.

Broadcast allows for custom messages to be sent out to all open Studio and Vision applications, so that you can easily alert your team to failover testing (for example),  share important system information, planned outages, or maybe just some special treats in the breakroom!

July 27th Webinar, 8:00AM PST

We will discuss how to configure ASR to support automatic failover for an entire service, or on a per-service-basis.

We will also talk about how the GNS is used to support the new Broadcast feature, explain how to enable Broadcast, and walk through a demonstration of the Broadcast configuration using Studio and VBScript.

As always the webinar will be recorded and made available here on the blog for on-demand viewing.
